JELLYFISH

Seriously, this screening started a little after midnight, so cut me a break. In its defense, the film is set in Israel and manages to stay clear of politics, the PLO, and terrorism. This isn’t about land, or faith, or heritage, or bloody struggles of any kind. At least I didn’t notice any while my eyes were open. While I fought off the siren song of sleep and, for the most part, lost, I did catch a glimpse of a few semi-hot Israeli chicks, some mute ginger who came out of the sea, a married couple having one hell of a time in a hotel, and some Filipino nanny who really, really wanted a toy ship. Who knows? More importantly, who cares? Perhaps Jews should stick to cinematic victimhood after all.

Bad Critic
If this movie was about Israeli politics, you'd bash it as well. Cut the BS. For those of you who do appreciate art - this is a must watch!

Wonderful Movie
Don't listen to the narrow minded critic. The movie touches your heart and your soul. Perhaps not all the threads are neatly tied but the magic is there. As for the narrow minded "critic" - I suspect that he wouldn't recognize a good movie when he sees one even when he is awake....

Film Artfully Good - Critic..Not So Much
I think the title "critic" is too generous for the reviewer of this film. There's a "critical" difference between a ruthless (aka "honest") review, and one who is not truly reviewing the movie...just going for self-indulgent satire. Perhpas you should save that for your blog. This is for movie REVIEWS. Just saw the flick at my local art museum theater. It is art. It was an award as such. I had to chuckle with the critic's words, though, when he said the 'nanny' really, REALLY wants a toy boat
